Our Story

Spencer and Brooke first met at the age of 12 at Safety Harbor Middle School. At the time, Brooke was a library assistant and tasked with creating a video about library rules. She enlisted a friend for help, who brought Spencer along to act in the video. Despite producing an award-winning film together, their initial encounter passed with slight indifference towards each other. But as the years passed, they found themselves sharing many of the same classes and circles.
It wasn’t until their freshman year of high school, while sitting next to each other in computers class, that their friendship truly took off. They talked every day, their connection growing stronger—until, at some point, they both realized the truth: they liked each other. More than just friends!
What followed was nearly a year of stolen glances, nervous avoidance, and countless after-school text conversations—each one drawing them closer, even as they hesitated to admit it (or even talk to each other) in person.
Then, in August 2014, Spencer made a bold move—he asked Brooke to the movies in between English and Spanish class. On August 31st, they saw “When the Game Stands Tall” at their local theater. From that moment on, they were inseparable. Months later, when Brooke hesitantly asked what exactly they were, Spencer didn’t miss a beat—he confidently told her they had been boyfriend and girlfriend since that very first date.
Spencer and Brooke have grown into not just partners, but best friends over the years. They’ve been by each other’s sides through adulthood’s initial milestones: first jobs, moves, and the joy of expanding their little family (Gigi!). They’ve loved the years they shared and are hopeful for many more ahead. Beyond all else, they are excited to share this life – experiencing all kinds of days together.
